Do-it to Power Speed Volunteering for Team London
‘Speed Volunteering’
Do-it is partnering with Team London. the Mayor of London’s volunteering programme, to launch a new volunteering and work platform later this year. The partnership will offer ‘speed’ volunteering opportunities enabling young people to volunteer quickly and easily for up to six hours, finding out about these opportunities via text messages and social media.
Speaking about the new partnership. the Mayor said, ‘‘Volunteering is a fantastic opportunity for young Londoners to learn invaluable new skills that will help set them up for life. We want to make it easier to get involved in volunteering, which is why I welcome Team London’s exciting new partnership with Do-it.org.”
Speed Volunteering Grants
We’re happy to announce that Team London are further supporting speed volunteering with the creation of 20 special grants exclusively for speed volunteering projects in London. Team London recognises that people in London are more likely to volunteer if they can fit it in around their busy lifestyles. Therefore, they have approximately ?200,000 to distribute as a series of ?10,000 grants.
The grant payment schedule will involve ?5,000 on the creation and uploading of suitable speed volunteering roles, and the second instalment of ?5,000 will be released to ensure a 12-month supply of speed volunteering opportunities.
