Beating off thousands of restaurants Grand Imperial London has achieved finalist status in the proclaimed Tsingtao Legacy of Taste competition 2011 in under just one year of its opeПing.
Already awarded a 2AA Rosette Grand Imperial London, based at the landmark newly refurbished Grosvenor Hotel in Victoria, was one of three finalists chosen and judged.
The prestigious Tsingtao Legacy of Taste finalist accolade was awarded to Rand Cheung, Master Chef and owner, Mark Wood, restaurant director, and Head chef in the kitchen Chi Leung at London's Courthouse Doubletree hotel in Soho on 9 November. Over 1,000 restaurants entered the competition, with over 8,000 votes from members of the public.
Mark Wood says: "We have worked incredibly hard to change people's perception of Chinese food here in Victoria. It's an honour for our team to be acknowledged as a finalists for this accolade not to mention being up against so much fierce competition and in just under a year of us opeПing our doors to London diners."
Tsingtao Legacy of Taste aims to protect the heritage of Chinese food in the UK and herald those restaurants using authentic techniques, fresh high quality ingredients and with a passion for service.
In addition to Ching, the judging panel consisted of food archaeologist and broadcaster, Alan Coxon; Tsingtao Beer's James Wright and Cathay Pacific catering manger, Antony Edwards.
