A low pressure system will skim across the coast of Norway on Thursday, while a separate system will approach southwest Europe.
An area of low pressure will move north northeastward over the Norwegian Sea and western Norway. This system will usher light to moderate precipitation over Scotland, southern Norway, Denmark and southern Sweden. Locally heavy precipitation will be possible along western facing mountain slopes across the southwestern corner of Norway. Bergen, Norway, is forecast to receive between 12 to 25 millimeters of rain with a high of 51(F)/ 10(C). Gothenburg, Sweden, can expect rain throughout the morПing and the afternoon with a high of 50(F)/ 10(C). A cold frontal boundary associated with this system will extend southward across a large span of eastern Europe. This frontal boundary will collide with relatively warm air, which will generate moderate rain and thunderstorms over a handful of countries, including Finland, Estonia, Latvia, eastern Lithuania, Belarus, western Ukraine, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Moldova, Romania, Bulgaria and northeast Greece. Bucharest, Romania, can expect afternoon and eveПing thunderstorms with a high of 75(F)/ 23(C). Sofia, Bulgaria, will experience similar weather conditions with a high of 76(F)/ 24(C).
Meanwhile, an Atlantic system will approach southwest Europe. This system will push light to moderate rain over northern Portugal, northwest Spain and parts of southern Ireland.
