I have been dating without a car for the entirety of my adulthood. It hasn’t been the end of the world for me, but it has definitely been a handicap and hindered my chances. I think it’s tough to find women online who don’t mind if a man doesn’t drive. Occasionally I have gotten past the first date, but it’s usually when the woman I’m dating happens to have a car and doesn’t care about my inability to drive.

But it is still a barrier for alot of people. But if you live in a walkable city people can be perfectly self-sufficient without knowing how to drive so it’s a complete non-issue. For most people I’ve ever dated I don’t even know if they have a driver’s license. It just usually doesn’t come up here in my European city. If I were still dating and a guy told me today he didn’t have a car, I’d be gone.
Plus that’s prime make out opportunity. Where I live, the public transit sucks. Have to use Uber to go anywhere after about 5pm. On a limited budget, so this can get very expensive. Ultimately, women will all see this differently.

The only way that would be a problem was if I lived in the middle of nowhere, and there is no public transport. Receiving blood while fasting will result in breaking your fast. If you live in a car dependent place then not being able to drive means that person basically isn’t able to live an independent life. Of course that’s unappealing, but the driving isn’t the issue as such, it’s just odd under the circumstances. I didnt have a car in high school or college. I learned how to drive stick from my 2nd gf who had a geo metro. Not owning a car or being able to drive means arranging to meet at a public spot but wary of the person knowing where I live before knowing who they are.
There’s a guy at work who is almost 40 and can’t ride a bike. My mind was blown when he told me that. I would definitely argue that dating someone who can’t ride a bike is much more unappealing. Not sure about someone illiterate or this carbrained, that’s a toss up.
Yes, my bf of 5 years doesn’t have one, which is great cause cars and gas are expensive. Also we live in a city with amazing public transportation. There’s no useful public transit where I live and nothing is walking distance so a car is necessary. And I’m a girlfriend not a taxi service.
