Women of the World Festival

Dates: 01st — 08th March 2015

The Women of the World Festival (WOW) returns to the Southbank Centre for its fifth year this March, coinciding with International Women’s Day on 8th March. Originally launched by Jude Kelly, Southbank Centre’s Artistic Director, following the criticisms she received as a woman new to the role, it celebrates «the formidable power of women to make change happen». Spread across five days, WOW incorporates live music, films, comedy, theatre and poetry alongside debates, talks, networking, mentoring and workshops. This year’s programme includes Caitlin Moran. journalist and author of ‘How to Be a Woman’, who is in Conversation with Friends on Saturday 7th March 2015, and Mirth Control, hosted by Sandi Toksvig who welcomes Sarah Millican and Sharon D. Clarke to the Royal Festival Hall stage on Sunday 8th March 2015.

The four-time Grammy Award-winПing singer, songwriter, musician and producer will perform soul, pop and R&B including popular hits Hello and Dancing On The Ceiling. The king of love crooПing Lionel Richie hits the O2 Arena for two nights which top and tail March 2015. There are dozens of other musicians in the world who’ve managed to sell a hundred million albums, but we’re not sure that anyone else has ever written a song quite as brilliant as All Night Long. That magnificent floor-filler was the central pinnacle of a career that mixed smooth soul (Easy, Three Times a Lady, Hello) with tight dance music (Brick House, Dancing on the Ceiling). All these hits will be on show at the O2. performed by a man whose brilliance has spanned a 40-year career.

Comic Relief Danceathon

Join Claudia Winkleman and a host of celebrities this March for the Comic Relief Danceathon. Taking place at Wembley Arena. the event, which is hosted by Claudia, will be a six-hour non-stop dance frenzy to raise funds for Red Nose Day 2015. Celebrities such as Caroline Flack — Strictly Come Dancing 2015 champion — Davina McCall, Kirstie Allsopp and Sara Cox will all be joiПing in on the action and you can too, dancing along to a range of genres including 70s disco, 80s power, 90s rave and musical theatre.
